Headshot of Laura Ferguson smiling against a teal background.Where are you located, and what is your favorite thing about it?

San Diego, California. San Diego is pretty perfect in most ways. 75 degrees, laid back culture, proximity to the ocean, close to the desert, mountains and Mexico for a weekend adventure.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to cook, travel, read, yoga, HiiT workouts, hang with my Tijuana rescue pup, Wyatt. I like art, interior design, estate sales, hiking, art, photography

Have any bucket list items?

There so much of the world I still want to see – Turkey, Morocco, Indonesia, properly see Italy and France’s culinary and wine regions, Nepal, Switzerland. I’d like to own a home, with a backyard sauna, brick oven and garden.

What’s your passion project?

I love to thrift and go to estate sales, find a diamond in the rough and bring it back to life. Usually in the form of a furniture refurb, but can extend into other housewares and knick knacks.

Why did you pick Mad Fish Digital?

The culture is what really stood out to me. The excellent Glassdoor reviews and ethos of the company on the website came out in all of the conversations I had during the interview process. It’s refreshing to be somewhere where the team’s happiness is considered and baked into the DNA of the organization. Mad Fish feels like a special place, and I’m excited to be here.

What is your favorite genre of music to listen to while you work?

I listen to LoFi while I work, which has kind of messed up my Spotify algorithm haha

Share a fun fact about yourself!

I can ride a unicycle!

If you have a pet, tell us about them.

Wyatt is my 9 year old Chihuahua cattle dog mix. When I adopted him, they said he would be about 60 pounds but come to find out that he’s mostly Chihuahua and has never gotten any larger than his 20 pounds. He’s got plenty of personality and to use my best bud. We’ve gone on lots of trips together and he’s always hanging out sleeping next to me as I work, waiting for me to finish the workday to take him to the beach.

What do you add to the team outside of work?

I am a naturally curious person. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people and understanding their perspective and where they come from, both socially and at work. I’m a very organized, systematic person in my everyday life – everything has a place and way. I also feel like I have a pretty good sense of humor and can bring levity to situations.
