Meet Marcus Yoo, Mad Fish Digital’s new Content Strategist. Get to know him better in the below questionnaire.

Where are you located and what is your favorite thing about it?

I just moved to Southern California after living in Portland, OR for almost 17 years. Everything is different which is exciting, but I’m a big foodie so getting to explore the food scene down here and try places I’ve only heard about has been great.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy hiking and photography. It’s always a good day when I can put the two together!

Bucket list item(s).

Visit the New 7 Wonders of the World. I’ve been to the Great Wall of China already and would love to see Petra and the Taj Mahal.

What’s your passion project?

Food has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up watching cooking shows and have always loved cooking and trying new foods. You can learn so much about people and the planet through food. Lately, I’ve really been into understanding food sustainability better, where our food comes from, and thinking about the future of food.

Why did you pick Mad Fish?

Mad Fish fosters a collaborative and innovative environment. Having the opportunity to tackle new challenges and projects with forward-thinking people is exciting.

Favorite marketing resource (blog/podcast/website/tool) and why?

Search Engine Journal does well at breaking down large topics into understandable articles. They also often provide very helpful context on topics – giving background information on how marketing or search engines used to be, how an update changes the landscape, and what marketers can do as a result of those changes.

Favorite genre of music to work to/link to your favorite Spotify playlist to listen to at work?

It really depends on the day and the mood. I listen to almost every kind of music (at the time of writing I have 32 playlists on Spotify). Though, most of the time when I’m working I’ll have some Alternative or Indie music on.

Fun fact about yourself.

My reigning athletic achievement was in 8th grade when I broke a middle school high jump record with a jump of 5’11”.

If you have a pet, tell us about it.

I don’t have any pets right now, but eventually, I’ll get a dog. It’s not a matter of ‘if’ but ‘when’.

What do you add to the team outside of work?

Random animal knowledge and occasional egghead humor.
