We’re stoked to welcome another Paid Media Strategist, Lauren Arendt! She joins the team from Portland. Learn more about her bucket list, hobbies, and background in this blog.

Where did you go to school?

California Polytechnic University (Cal Poly), San Luis Obispo

What did you major in?

Public Relations, with minors in entrepreneurship and integrated marketing.

Where are you from?

San Diego, California

Favorite PDX spot?

Eb and Bean! I have the biggest sweet tooth and they have the BEST vegan frozen yogurt.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Whether it be backpacking in the summer or skiing in the winter, I spend most of my spare time outdoors! Aside from that, I love sewing–just like paid media, it is a super fun balance between art and science.

Favorite podcast (or media organization if you don’t have a show in particular)?

She Explores is my favorite podcast! It features inspiring stories of women in the outdoors.

Bucket list item(s).

I want to learn how to backcountry ski and visit all (or most!) of the National Parks.

What’s your passion project?

I always have a few different sewing projects going, but lately, I have been making my mom a quilt. I also sew pet bandanas and sell them on Etsy!

Why did you pick Mad Fish?

Cat wearing an orange bandana

I chose Mad Fish because of their dedication to using business as a force for good. Working somewhere with a genuine alignment with my values has always been important to me, so seeing how Mad Fish brings their values to life through their B Corp status and people-first mentality made my choice clear.

Favorite genre of music to work to/link to your favorite Spotify playlist to listen to at work?

Folk music! The more granola, the better.

Fun fact about yourself.

I have moved 15 times in my life so far!

If you have a pet, send us a picture of you with it! Or of it! ☺

This is Charlie. Nothing makes him happier than stealing my chairs.

What do you add to the team outside of work?

All the hiking recommendations, houseplant care tips, (vegan) food recommendations and a positive outlook.
